Thanksgiving

This was my thanksgiving outfit. There are pretty gold buttons on the left shoulder of the sweater but of course I hid them with the hair. My bad. But you bet I'll be wearing this sweater again for work next week, so better pictures then! Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and black friday!

Arlington Preppy

Got one sweater on Black Friday. I wasn't really out to shop but it felt like a duty to buy something... was I trying to fit in? I don't know. It was a beautiful day though! Have a great weekend guys!

On the go

When things are so clean-cut and neat, I like to bring a little chaos on top: mussed hair (though I have to mention this is after running around in the wind).  Today was the day of errands. Also, can I please say something, the fact that it feels like midnight at five doesn't help with taking pics---sorry for the lack of lighting.

Standing Out

I went shopping for new work clothes in this outfit. People kept staring at me the entire time! I don't know if it was the pop of yellow in a sea of black, brown and navy or that people thought it was super cute or they were pitying me because I obviously didn't own a mirror. I keep telling myself it was the super cute thing because it makes me feel better. 

In less embarrassing news, I got a ton of cute work type of clothes and finally organized my closet! Woohoo! Applause please. :)

Last Week of Freedom

Excuse the tired, sleepy eyes but this happens to be my last week of sleeping in late, napping and basically, acting like I'm in undergrad. I start my first big-girl job in a week. Eek! But that just means getting to dress up like a professional who actually knows what she's doing. Woohoo!

An almost surprise party for L! But nonetheless, it was lovely to see great friends come together. We think we got the silent permission to post a picture of everyone on our blog ;)

This is what I wore to a local cafe the other day where I "worked on my thesis".  If sitting behind my laptop and chatting online with friends about cute coffee shop guys counts as work. What? I sent out an email. That's accomplishing something! :)

My pop color

Well guys, still posting on these hectic days shows my devotion 'cause mama's body is here but mind is in Mass; and that's a recipe for a mess. This morning I could not decide what to wear, but I knew I wanted to have my favorite pop color on, which of course is orange! Please excuse my messy hair, psycho chic must prevail--at times. :)

Midshipmen

Did you know the students the U.S. Naval Academy are called midshipmen? And they walk around campus and Annapolis in their uniform? Like 'No big deal, I'm wearing this super hot uniform while eating ice cream. Oh, you'd like to take a picture with me in my little hat? Sure.' Drool. Not kidding. I definitely don't remember anything our tour guide said.

I wore this outfit to a friend's place for dinner tonight. Good thing this dress is loose. I needed it to camouflage the bulge that unfailingly appears when I'm around amazing food. Seriously amazing food. And tomorrow I'm going to Annapolis with a couple of friends. Which means more food. And navy men. In uniform. :)

Black and White

It was dark outside by the time we got around to taking pictures. Dammit Daylight Savings! So in the theme of the whole no light, therefore no color thing, we did our pictures in black and white. Don't worry, you're not missing out on much color. 

L was wearing only black today. This is her 'Power Woman' outfit. Reserved for days when she needs to show the Director who's the boss (her). 

G, on the other hand, we're calling this outfit the 'Day-after-hitting-her-head-on-a-kitchen-cabinet' outfit. Took her 30 minutes to get dressed. This is what spending time in the kitchen does to you, folks. You end up looking like your mother. On a bad day. Don't do it.
